Annette K. Burgert, FGSP, FASG

Annette Kuntzelman Burgert, FGSP, FASG, is a nationally known author and speaker who has done extensive research on the German and Swiss immigration to Pennsylvania during the 18th and early 19th centuries. She is the world’s foremost authority on locating the ancestral villages of those colonial Pennsylvania-Germans, having located the German home of thousands of such immigrants.

Her major works include four extensive volumes (over 2000 pages total) documenting German immigrant, two of which were published by the prestigious Pennsylvania German Society. She also co-authored another major volume with noted author, Henry Z. Jones, as well as more than a dozen monographs containing other immigrant families from specific villages in Germany and Switzerland.

She has served on the Board of Directors of the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania and has been an officer of both the Pennsylvania Chapter and the National Society of Palatines to America.

Her contributions to genealogy were acknowledged by the National Genealogical Society with their Award of Merit in 1984, as well as her election as a Fellow of the American Society of Genealogists in 1990. She was also elected a Fellow of the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania in 1992 and has received many other honors and recognition for her work.
