CONRAD SCHUTZ (Hunter Lists #706) Anna
Catharina Schutz, daughter of the late Conrad of Langen Sollwest in the earldom of
Isenberg, married Leonard Feg of Schoharie, son of the late Johann of Oberstein in
the duchy of Nastau-Sig, 1 Nov 1715 (West Camp Lutheran Church book). The village of
origin was 6456 Langenselbold (27 km. e. of Frankfurt; Church books begin in
1563), and the emigrant also was documented at 6466 Niedergrundau (5 km. n.e.
of Langenselbold Church books begin 1653). Conrad Schutz, a weaver and son
of Hermann Schutz of Altenburschla in Hesse, married Anna, daughter of Clas Eichelborner here, 19
May 1687 (Langenselbold Church book). Anna, daughter of Closs Eichelborner and Margaretha,
was baptized 15 Aug 1661 - spouse: Anna w/o Peter Kirschner (Langenselbold
Church book).
Clas Eichelborner was buried 28 Aug 1709 (Langenselbold Church book~. Conrad Schutz
was a linenweaver at Lieblos in 1705 (Niedergrundau Church book).
Conrad Schutz
made his initial appearance on the Hunter Lists 4 Aug 1710 with 5 persons
over 10 yrs. of age. The family was recorded with 4 over 10 on 31 Dec 1710.
On 24 June 1711, Conrad Schutz and Zimmermann were registered together
with 5 persons over 10 yrs. and 1 persons under 10. The household showed 5
persons over 10 on 29 Sept 1711, 3 persons over 10 yrs. on 24 June 1712, and
4 persons over 10 yrs. of age on 13 Sept 1712. Perhaps Conrad was the
Johannis Schiets naturalized 22 Nov 1715 (Albany Naturalizations) (HJ). I believe the
entry regarding Anna Catharina2 Schutz's marriage is in error when it refers
to Conrad Schutz being deceased by 1715 (HJ). Conrad Schutz and his wife
Anna Maria Margretha were at Neu-Heessberg ca. 1716/17 (Simmendinger
Register); they were noted next to the family of Jacob2 Zimmermann and his
wife Anna Margretha (Schutz) on this roll, a double-tie as the Hunter Lists
strongly suggest that the 2nd wife of Conrad1 Schutz was the widow of Jacob1
Zimmermann (HJ). Conrad Schutz spouse Henrich Jung in 1716 and Georg Mattheus
in 1717, both at Schoharie (West Camp Luth. Church book). Conrad Sheetz lived in
the Tulpehocken region before 13 May 1723 (1726 - 1973 Anniversarv Magazine
of the Tulpehocken, p. 48). The ch. of Conrad1 Schutz and his 1st wife Anna
were:
-
Johann Michael2, b. Selbold and baptized 9 Feb 1688 -
spouse: Michael Mey - surviving son of Johan Mey the landlord am Markt Diensiknecht
(Langenselbold Church book). There is a will for one Michael Shuts dated
1749 in Philadelphia County Will Bk. I, p. 214 (HJ).
-
Henrich2, b. Selbold and
baptized 3 Aug 1690 - spouse: Henrich - surviving son of
Peter Lohfink (Langenselbold Church book).
-
Anna Margaretha2, b. Selbold and baptized
3 Nov 1693 - spouse: Margretha - daughter of Worner Rapp the Burgmuller (Langenselbold
Church book). She married Jacob
Zimmermann Jr. (HJ).
-
Anna Catharina2, b. Selbold and baptized 29 April 1696 -
spouse: the w/o
Philipps Adam (Langenselbold Church book). She married 1 Nov 1715 Leonhardt Feg
(West Camp Luth. Church book).
-
Anna Elisabetha2, baptized 12 .July 1705 -
spouse: Anna Elisab. Hoffmann from
Nieder-Seemen (Niedergrundau Church book).
